XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/01
We made a day of it yesterday in spite of a light rain that started after 3 yesterday afternoon. The good news is that the rain stopped last night and was followed by some snow and cooler temps. As of 6:30am the temperature was 29F and the snow pack had firmed up. Groomer Henry will start Ginzu grooming all 8 trails early this morning. He will be snow combing all the skating lanes and setting fresh tracks where needed. We now have a 7 to 9 inch base and there is 10 to 14 inches of snow in the woods. Conditions are very good.
Forecast:
Today: Overcast. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High near 35F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph
Tonight: Considerable cloudiness. Low 24F. Winds light and variable.
Tuesday: Cloudy and becoming windy with snow showers becoming a steady accumulating snow later. Some sleet may mix in. High 32F. Winds E at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 90%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Today’s lunch special is Bob’s Favorite Tuna Panini: albacore tuna, black olives, jalapenos, tomatoes and swiss on ciabatta, grilled to delicious perfection and served with chips and a pickle. If you prefer, have it in a wrap. Mmmm good! Famous Classic Chili and Veggie Chili will also be served along with other specialty paninis and treats.
