XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/18
As of 6:45am, we’ve received another two inches of snow over night, and the snow was still falling. Groomer Henry will start snow combing and resetting tracks early this morning. The mix of fresh snow with Friday night’s crust should make the skating nearly perfect, and allow for firm set tracks. We now have a base of 9 to 12 inches and 15 to 17 inches of snow in the woods. All trails should be ready by 10am.
Forecast:
Today: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around this morning. High 13F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Tonight: A few snow showers scattered about the area this evening, otherwise a good deal of clouds. Low 3F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 30%.
Tuesday: A mix of clouds and sun early, then becoming cloudy later in the day. High 22F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy skies. Low 8F. Winds light and variable.
Stone Turtle Cafe’s lunch special is Bob’s Favorite Tuna Panini; white flake albacore with jalapeños, yellow peppers, secret spices, swiss cheese on StoneHouse wheat bread, served hot with chips and a pickle.
It will be beautiful day of XC skiing!
