XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/17
We received another two inches of snow throughout the day yesterday and over night, which has allowed for continuing “winter wonderland” conditions. Ginzu Dana started grooming at 6:30am this morning, snow combing the skating lanes and resetting tracks where needed. We have a base of 8 to 12 inches and 13 to 17 inches of snow in the woods. All trails will be ready by 9:30am.
Forecast:
Today: Occasional snow showers. High 13F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected.
Tonight: Variably cloudy with snow showers. Low 8F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Monday: Occasional snow showers. High 13F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Today’s lunch special is Paella on the Sun Deck! A very popular XC Ski HQ tradition, Paella on the Sun Deck celebrates the world-renowned and absolutely delicious rice dish that originates in Spain, and offers skiers a hearty, flavorful feast. Bob and Lynne learned the method from Paella chef master Ayo while visiting Nerja, Spain, and are excited to serve this traditional dish to hungry skiers at XC Ski HQ. Prepared in a massive cast iron pan over an outdoor fire pit, this lunch is almost as enjoyable to watch being cooked as it is to eat! Served piping hot with vegetables and Saffron-infused chicken and shrimp, this dish will be available in two seatings: 1:00pm and 3:00pm, and the cost is $10. Buen Provecho!
It will be another snowy day of XC skiing!
Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Shania and the crew
