XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/11
Yesterday was a winter wonderland with all the snow we received from the night before. With plenty of snow in the trees, Ginzu Dana spent the entire day packing the new snow, setting fresh tracks and snow-combed skating lanes to perfection. We received another one to two inches of snow last night, which will make it all the more beautiful today. Groomer Henry will snow comb all the skating lanes and will reset the track where necessary early this morning. We have 10-12 inches of snow in the woods, and 6-8 inches of packed snow on the trails. It will be another beautiful day to go skiing, and we have even more snow in the forecast!
Today: Variably cloudy with snow showers. High around 15F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%. About one inch of snow expected.
Tonight: Snow showers early will become steadier snow overnight. Low near 10F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Tuesday: Variably cloudy with snow showers. High 19F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Tuesday Night: Cloudy with snow showers mainly during the evening. Low 6F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40%.
Today’s lunch special is the Jimmy Mac Panini! We like to think that we offer relatively healthy lunch options, but every now and then we just have to put bacon on the menu. It is a mouthwatering concoction of sliced grilled chicken breast, Canadian bacon, chopped spinach, sliced tomato, jalapenos, provolone cheese and pesto in a flatbread sandwich, all grilled to cheesy, bacony perfection. It is truly a culinary triumph.
