Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 01/10
Date: 1/10/2016 – Time: 12:00 PM
Glen and Steve have finished rolling and packing all of the Vasa Pathway trail loops. Casey and I will hook up the grooming equipment and make another pass over the trails snowcombing the skate lane and setting classic tracks. We will complete the 5K loop before moving onto the 11K loop and finish on the 25 K loop late this afternoon.
The county has plowed the Bartlett Rd. parking lot for those who wish to ski today.
UPDATE – Date: 1/10/2016 – Time: 8:30 AM
Glen and Steve report 10 to 12 inches of new snow have fallen on the Vasa overnight. As of 8:30 they have rolled the 5K and 11K portions of the trail and will soon be heading out onto the 25K loop in counter clockwise direction to roll that portion of the trail. After they are finished rolling we will change crews and go back out to comb the skate lane and set classic tracks. This will be an all day grooming operation and skiers should expect the trail to be soft even after we finish.
As of now the parking lot at Bartlett Road has not been plowed and Glen reports that until it is you may not be able to exit if you try to get in.
