XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/10

Winter Trails Day yesterday was a lot of fun, despite wet conditions!

As of 6:30am, we received at least 6 inches of dense snow since yesterday evening, and it continues to fall. Groomer Dana started packing the trails at 6:45am, and will continue until he can start setting tracks and grooming the skate lanes. This is just the snow we needed to get the trails in excellent skiing condition! We expect the Tall Pines, Rolling Hills, Trapper’s Cabin, and Blizzard Trails to have tracks set and snow combed skating lanes by 10:00am. We have 9-12 inches of snow in the woods, and will have 6-7 inches of packed snow on the trails.

Today: Windy. Snow this morning will transition to snow showers this afternoon. High 23F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 70%. About one inch of snow expected.

Tonight: Variably cloudy with snow showers. Low near 10F. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Monday: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around in the morning. High 14F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Monday Night: Cloudy with snow showers in the evening and steady snow likely after midnight. Low near 10F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Today’s lunch special is the Jimmy Mac Panini! We like to think that we offer relatively healthy lunch options, but every now and then we just have to put bacon on the menu. The Jimmy Mac Panini is named after Bob and Lynne’s youngest son, who first created this mouthwatering concoction of sliced grilled chicken breast, Canadian bacon, chopped spinach, sliced tomato, jalapenos, provolone cheese and pesto in a flatbread sandwich, all grilled to cheesy, bacony perfection. It is truly a culinary triumph.

The trails will be a winter wonderland for the next few days, and will also offer protection from the wind!

Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Matt, Dana, Henry, Ryan, Erin, Kerrigan, Gage, Garrett, Grant, and the Crew
