XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/06

Instructors Fran, Stu and Brian get the XC Ski Hq 4H program rolling for 2016. Cold is Cool for kids at XC Ski Hq!

Our trails continue to hold up remarkably well. We have 6 to 8 inches of snow in the woods and 4 to 5 inches packed on the the trails. Ginzu Dana set new tracks on the Tall Pines trail last night and Ginzu groomed and snowcombed the remaining trails as well. All trails have firm tracks set and are beautifully snowcombed skating lanes. Very good to excellent conditions prevail on all trails even though there are some pesky oak leaves in the tracks on the East end of the Manitou trail.

Today’s forecast: Cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. High 34F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. High 34F. Winds light and variable.

Todays lunch special is the Classic Ham panini. Black Forest ham, tomatoes, spinach and provolone on Stone House bread with stone ground mustard grilled to perfection by chef Erin.

Of course there will also be Famous Chili served with a multigrain roll, Bosco Sticks, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies, and fresh muffins to help fuel your day on the trails.

The Holiday Sale continues with great deals on a huge assortment of XC Ski packages!

Looks like another beautiful Pure Michigan day to XC Ski.
