Happy New Year!

Shanty Creek Resorts has received over a foot of fresh snow since Monday with 1″ of snow falling overnight. 1-2″ of daily snow is forecasted through the weekend. Highs today will be around 22 degrees and snowmaking operations will continue as weather permits. We continue to make snow at every opportunity and are focusing our efforts on opening Good Knight and Purple Daze next.

Today we have 12 runs open (Chicken’s Choice will be open by 12 Noon), serviced by four lifts – blue, yellow, purple and Magic Carpet. Conditions keep getting better on the slopes and we will continue to open more terrain as weather and snowmaking cooperate. As our open terrain is limited, we have adjusted holiday rates accordingly. Our base is approximately 30″, but please be aware: snow conditions remain soft with thin areas near the edges of the trails. Please ski and ride with care.

For more family fun, there are four lanes available at the Alpine Tubing Park at Summit Mtn. Tubing will be available from 10a-10p today.
