Treetops Resort Snow Report – 12/31

New Year’s Eve is one of the best days of the year to ski and conditions will be great tomorrow. We have several special events going on including 3 New Year’s Eve Parties….one for families, one for adults and one for kids. There is still room in all of them but act quickly to reserve your spot so you don’t miss out. In addition, our 11pm New Year’s tradition will again take place on Birch Run and The Chute. Join us for the TORCHLIGHT PARADE….all you need to do is show up on the top of the slopes at least 15 minutes prior to 11:00. All you need is a valid lift ticket or season pass. Fireworks cap the night off right at the stroke of midnight. All are welcome to enjoy!

Snow guns have been active since early evening on Dec. 27th and will remain on around the clock into the foreseeable future. Mother Nature has blessed us with over a foot of snow in the past few days! Our Heikki Lunta Snow Dance must have worked….keep dancing!

With the new snow and snowmaking efforts, we’ve been able to pull guns off of Birch Run for the season and begin to work on other slopes such as Crosscut, Money Pit, Al’s Bypass, Sweet Caroline and Sitzmark (home of the mini terrain park). We plan to have all of these runs open by Friday bringing percentage open to 42% which is as high a percentage compared to any other LP Ski Resort. We have also begun to make snow on the middle runs such as Schussaway and Roundhouse in hopes to have them open just as soon as we can.

The crew worked hard and has added a 20 foot box, a pipe rail and 2 flat rails on The Chute.

The natural snow will allow us to pack 10km of Cross Country Trails. 10km of Cross Country Trails are groomed and trackset.

We had a great day of Dog Sledding on Dec. 30th and we’ll be back for more on Dec. 31st. This is an activity that books up quickly so it is in your best interest to reserve these time slots in advance. Check in for Dog Sledding will be at the Activities Center. Rides are available in from 9:30 – 2:30 on Thursday.

Tubing will be available beginning with the 10am session on Wednesday. Sessions are 1 hour with a max of 20 tubes per session. Tubing is not located in the normal location as we continue to make snow on the actual tubing run. Instead, check in will be at the Activities Center and the tubing will be done on the Jones Golf Course Hole #4 near the Activities Center. Due to low snow, tubers will need to walk back up after tubing and the charge will be a significantly discounted $5 per person, per session. Sessions can be reserved through our reservations department or by calling the Activities Center
