XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/29
We are skiing!
As of 10:00am this morning, we have received 6-8 inches of dense snow. We have set molded classic tracks on 3 of our 8 trails – Rolling Hills, Tall Pines, and Blizzard – and will continue setting tracks on the whole trail system throughout the day. The snow is too warm to groom for skating at this time, but as it continues to cool down this afternoon we will start packing and rolling the skating lanes.
Deep molded tracks are like heaven on Earth!
Today: Snow showers early with a chance of lingering snow showers later. Temps nearly steady around 30. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70%.
Tonight: Cloudy skies. A few flurries or snow showers possible. Low around 20F. Winds light and variable.
Wednesday: Snow flurries and snow showers. High around 30F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
The Stone Turtle Day Lodge Café is cookin’! Pesto Perfection is the lunch special, with your choice of turkey OR hummus and extra cheese, basil pesto, provolone, spinach and tomato on Stone House Bread. Plus Classic and Veggie chili and multi grain rolls!
Winter has arrived! Come ski with us!!
