XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/01

What a great day of skiing yesterday. Lots of skiers from not just Michigan but Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania enjoyed beautiful sunny skies and excellent trail conditions. Today should be even better, with temps in the mid-20’s and our 40th ANNIVERSARY PARTY kicking off around noon! Ginzu Dana will begin snowcombing all the skating lanes and resetting tracks where needed early this morning.

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy. A few flurries are possible. High 27F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: A few flurries possible early. Mostly cloudy skies. Low 12F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 23F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Snow Depth in Woods: 10 to 16

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 6 to 10

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: all trails have freshly groomed snow.

Our 40th Anniversary Party is TODAY, Sunday, March 1st! Festivities will kick off around noon, with a pulled pork barbeque lunch special and also some adult refreshments from local Paddle Hard Brewing being served. It is a retro themed party, so wear any retro ski costume you’ll be awarded a pair of Smartwool socks or another great prize. Register for the costume contest at the Salomon/Smartwool tent outside to get your prize, and make sure to be on the sun deck at 3:00pm, when we will crown the Retro King & Queen for whoever has the best costumes, plus give out some other prizes.
