The Highlands Snow Report – 03/08

Last updated: Saturday 09:33 AM

Happy Spring Forward Day! Today is the day! Hops ‘N Highlands begins at 12:00 PM in front of the Day Lodge. Come enjoy the fun.

Our world class snowmaking team fired up the snow-guns again, last night, for one more refresh, this time on North, South Challengers and Heather. Late yesterday afternoon we were surprised with another clipper system that dropped around 2 inches of new snow! So between that, our dedicated snow farmers, and our grooming team tilling in all that new snow, its going to be a beautiful day to ride. Tonight also ends our normal 9:00 PM night skiing closures. Starting tomorrow it will be Sunday – Saturday 9:00 PM- 7:00 PM Until March 15th and that will then end night skiing for this season.

A few reminders:
Ski School is open daily, with morning, and a full-day kids camp, private and group lessons.

The Adventure Center is available for extra fun, with zipline, sno-go, and our equestrian center and one more night to enjoy the Enchanted trail!

The Nordic Center is open for Classic XC Skiing, fat tire bikes and snowshoeing. They also have a free sledding hill.

Here is what you can expect today:
Lift Hours: 9 AM – 9:00 PM
Sunday-Saturday 9:00 AM- 7:00 PM

Lifts: ALL lifts are open. This includes Camelot 6 (the fastest lift in Michigan & it is heated!), Heather Express, Challenger, Interconnect (brand new 3-person chairlift providing a faster ascent to North Peak), Amy’s, North Face, Renate’s Express, Magic Carpet

Trails: 55 trails are open. Take a look at the trail status below for the full line-up.

Glade Skiing Runs:
Open: Please, as always, use caution in these natural snow areas. Low snow and some bare spots may show up.

Terrain Parks: All 3 parks are open. We built a small half-pipe, in Upper Fun-Land allowing beginners to ride down the middle and bank turns or for more advanced park riders to catch a little air! We installed a brand new feature at the bottom of Lower Funland Park (located at the base of Camelot), enhancing this beginner oriented park’s theme. It is designed to be beginner friendly and allows for steady progression for all riders.

March is Mitten Love month! Michigan skiers, this ones for YOU! Anyone with a valid season pass from ANY Michigan ski resort is invited to ride at The Highlands for just $25 from March 1 through March 23! $2 from every ticket supports Snow Angel Foundation Inc.
