Shanty Creek Snow Report – 12/12 – Schuss Mountain will re-open this Saturday, December 14

Schuss Mountain is currently closed, and will re-open this Saturday, December 14. Schuss Mountain will be open December 14-15, then be open daily for the season beginning Thursday, December 19.
A winter storm warning is in effect and is anticipated to drop up to 18” of snow by this evening. Overnight totals have reached 14" on the ground, but the lake effect machine is still blowing in full force, so we do anticipate another 4-6" to fall by this evening.
Snowmaking has resumed, and we’ve made good progress on the face and yellow chairlift. We’ll have the the yellow chair spinning this weekend, although we’ll be waiting until tomorrow to push out the snow to give you an exact run count. This will be in addition to all the terrain on the purple chairlift, which will be adding a few more features to the Monster Terrain Park before the weekend as well.
Today our mountain operations crew will be working on moving snow guns from the areas we’ve completed on the yellow chairlift over to the pink pod, so we can get those runs up and rolling as soon as possible.
